Medical Thermography also called Medical Infrared Thermal Imaging. It's safe because there is NO radiation, NO compression, and physical contact. Medical thermography provides health care professionals additional information about their patient's physiology, revealing altered biochemical changes that need to be monitored. Thermal imaging is extremely helpful in monitoring patients during hormone therapy treatments for women and men. Dental offices are now starting to utilize thermal imaging to get a better view of their patients dental physiology such as areas of inflammation before a gum issue will show up on an x-ray.
Breast Thermal Imaging also referred to as Breast Thermography analyzes BREAST "PYSIOLOGY", as where a Mammogram is different because it analyzes the BREAST "ANATOMY". A breast mammogram aka mammography uses radiation and breast compression to take x-ray images of the breast, which is only in greyscale, and can reveal solid calcifications or masses. Mammogram's CANNOT see cancer. Only a pathologist can give a cancer diagnosis using a tissue sample. To learn more about the FDA Rules of reporting about dense breasts CLICK HERE!
Thermography can reveal changes in physiology by measuring and monitoring temperature variations and patterns that show up over a period of time. Breast thermography when used along with other FDA approved screening tests, can reveal early warning signs of physiological changes (especially in dense breast tissue) thereby allowing for early signs of a pathological concerns.
